IOWA- BEYOND THE TRANSCRIPT- The Value of Legal Video & Effective Deposition Witness Preparation
This practice-oriented program teaches attorneys how to identify when a recorded deposition adds evidentiary and presentation value; implement the recording and notice requirements according to the state of practice; coordinate remote deposition technology and the record; and prepare witnesses for the communication demands of recorded testimony without influencing substantive testimony. A Certified Legal Video Specialist and trial technician illustrates how choices made before and during a deposition affect clarity, preservation, editing, synchronization, and potential courtroom playback. The course distinguishes the attorney’s responsibility for legal advice and witness testimony from the CLVS professional’s role in neutral, reliable capture and technical readiness. Attendees apply the concepts to two deposition scenarios and receive practical checklists.
